At the moment, the Ministry of Energy has 131 million lei in its account for the compensation of the energy price, and the budget allocation for this is not 2.5 billion lei, but around 5 billion lei, because there are amounts which also go to the Ministry of Labour, said on Thursday the Minister of Finance, Adrian Câciu, quoted by Agerpres.

“The commitment credits requested by the Ministry of Energy were of 2.5 billion lei. There were a number of errors in the information received from ANRE, but we reconciled these results. We entered a normality period and we have this interministerial Committee, so those who are involved to come exactly with data and to discuss concretely on figures and not to issue in the public space all kinds of opinions, differences in figures and to create a certain panic in society,” he said.

”Just a week ago, the Minister of Energy said that it does not confirm any of those figures, neither 40, nor 20, nor 31 (billions of lei, n.r.). The reality is as follows: the Ministry of Energy currently has 131 million lei in its account… It’s not billions, it’s not tens of billions. We are talking about settlements in August, related to April. We need to look step by step, as the budget execution is done, and be anchored in reality. Budget loans cannot exceed commitment appropriations. Commitment appropriations requested by the Ministry of Energy were of 2.5 billion lei, that’s why we allocated 2.5 billion lei. The allocation for energy is not only 2.5 billion lei, but around 5 billion lei, because there are also amounts allocated to the Ministry of Labor, too. As you know, the Ministry of Labor compensates or pays the bills for domestic consumers, and the Ministry of Energy for economic ones,” explained the responsible minister.
