The Minister of Energy, Sebastian Burduja, said on Monday that he encourages the companies in the ministry’s portfolio to list additional packages of shares on the Stock Exchange and to find sources of financing for the investment projects they have considered.

“I wish, as Minister of Energy, to encourage other companies in our ministry’s portfolio to list additional share packages and we will work on this in the coming year, during my mandate, precisely to encourage transparency, rigor, professionalism, but and to encourage these companies to find sources of financing for the big investment projects they have in mind. Last but not least, encouraging the capital market means encouraging Romanians to save and invest what they have managed to save put it aside. It’s one thing to keep your money in a bank account, it’s one thing to keep your money in the house account, it’s another to invest in the capital market. And a simple calculation shows us that over a 15-20 year interval of days, the profit or gain we have on the capital market, a safe investment, let’s say, in the BET index, means two or three times more than if we kept this money in the bank,” said Sebastian Burduja, according to Agerpres.

The minister mentioned that he could not participate in the Forum because he had left for Canada, where he would conclude an important agreement for units 3 and 4 from Cernavodă.

Also, Constantin Saragea, secretary general of the Ministry of Energy, stated that the institution owns shares in 33 economic operators that carry out their activity in the field of energy. He mentioned that it is desired to list on the Stock Exchange as many profitable companies in the energy field as possible, because in this way their capital value can be established.
