The district City halls and the General City Hall of Bucharest were fined by the National Environmental Guard (GNM) with 7,500 lei each for not fully implementing the measures included in the Integrated Air Quality Plan, due at the end of 2019, said the Commissioner General of the GNM, Mărioara Gătej.

On the other hand, the head of the Environmental Guard said that during the past week, checks were carried out at 115 economic operators in the capital and Ilfov county, which have large and medium combustion plants.

“During the past week, we had 115 economic operators in control of Bucharest and Ilfov county, for which I also requested the support of colleagues from neighboring counties. We mainly checked the economic operators who have large and medium combustion plants. We had two cases of units that have large combustion plants, which have been sanctioned. This is CET Sud, which was sanctioned with a fine of 50,000 lei for non-compliance with the integrated environmental permit, respectively because they did not present documents from which to result that they assured maintenance of the pollutant retention systems and did not carry out those parallel measurements, at least once a year, for the pollutants. Also CET Grozăveşti was sanctioned with 100,000 lei for not complying with the conditions established by the integrated environmental permit. Because they started using fuel oil from 27 (February ie 2020 ) for which we have the official notification on 4 (March 2020),” said Gătej, according to Agerpres.
