ANRE introduced penalties for non-performance in gas distribution

Natural gas distributors will pay to customers fixed penalties of 100 lei, plus 2 lei for each hour of delay, if more than 12 hours pass before notify them of the reasons for limitation or unplanned interruption of service and the date and estimated time to resume it, indicates an ANRE order. The penalty is paid at the request of clients, within 30 days from the date the request was registered.

ANRE Order also provides that distributors must meet the requirements for connection to the distribution system within 30 days from the date of applications registration, either by issuing the technical connection certificate, either by refusing connection. Failure to comply attract fixed penalties of 20 lei, plus 2 lei for each day of delay from the 31st day after the date of filing of the connection request, but no more than 60 days past due, says profit.ro.

Distributors have an obligation to register the complaints and requests of customers and submit them, immediately, the registration number, in case were filed at a specialist office, and within 2 working days for those sent by post service, online, e-mail or fax. For violation of these provisions, the operators will pay 10 lei, plus 1 leu for each day of delay, but not more than 60 days late.

For not sending in maximum 10 days from the date of filing the request/the complete documentation the contract for the distribution of natural gas to applicants, distributors are due a penalty of 20 lei, plus 5 lei for each day of delay but not more than 60 days of delay.

For not checking on the spot the gas pressure following complaints of customers within 5 working days from the date of complaints registration, distributors are due a penalty of 20 lei, plus 5 lei for each day of delay but not more than 60 days of delay. The same penalties are owed by distributors if they do not notify the customers within 3 working days from receipt of complaints, on the date, time and place where verification is to be made.

ANRE President stated that, at the end of November, there were about 300,000 complaints from domestic gas consumers. He also said that this performance standard for the supply of gas will be introduced for electricity distributors as well.
