ANRE fined Electrica Furnizare and Gaz Vest for not applying the support schemes for the payment of bills

The National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) sanctioned Electrica Furnizare şi Gaz Vest with a total amount of 400,000 lei, for non-application of the support scheme for the payment of bills related to electricity and natural gas consumption from November 2021, according to a release of Authority.

ANRE has partially completed the control actions started on 12.01.2022 at the main suppliers of electricity and natural gas.

Thus, the verifications regarding the fulfillment of the obligation to issue invoices containing correct, transparent, clear and complete information regarding the capping of the final price of electricity and natural gas as well as the invoiced consumption related to the compensation period were completed.

Following the verifications performed, it was found that the companies Electrica Furnizare and Gaz Vest did not apply to the beneficiary customers the support scheme provided by the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 118/2021, approved by Law no. 259/2021, for the payment of invoices related to the consumption of electricity and natural gas, for November 2021, thus affecting the economic interests of the final customers beneficiaries of the scheme.

Electrica Furnizare and Gaz Vest were fined 200,000 lei each.

At the same time, measures have been ordered to restore legality in the sense of restoring the bills related to the consumption of electricity and natural gas from November 2021, with the application of the support scheme.
