The Energy Regulatory Authority convened all gas importers on Tuesday, according to sources quoted by e-nergia.ro. The talks focused on imports for this winter.

According to sources, ANRE would have convened this discussion to clarify the contracts that the importing companies have to bring gas to Romania for this winter. The authority wants to see if there are long-term contracts of these importers with the external gas producers (Gazprom), which would give a certain stability of the prices of imported gas for the winter, or if there is also the policy of gas purchases, for the Romanian market, on the spot market, which could greatly increase the prices for Romanian consumers (or their suppliers), this winter.

On the other hand, in the same context, the discussions also concerned the reservation of transport capacity for winter on the Hungary-Romania route.
