The “Career in the Energy Industry 2025” forum, held on November 7–8, transformed the association’s long-standing initiative into a national platform for dialogue, with an energy that far exceeded the format of a simple meeting between students and employers. For the first time, the event was hosted in Dobrogea, in partnership with the Ministry of Energy, Ovidius University of Constanța, and the Dobrogea Ovidius Engineers Association, bringing together over 150 participants—from students and young engineers to academics and company specialists.

Now in their 19th edition, the AIEE meetings have naturally become a link between generations. Mircea Bițoiu, president of the association, emphasized that expanding the forum to the national level responds to an obvious need: to create meeting spaces between the aspirations of young people and the practical experience of the technical and economic environment. After the May edition, organized in Bucharest, Constanța confirms that these formats not only build skills but also create community. And the direction is clear: in 2026, AIEE will take the forum to other counties as well.

Constanța has launched “AIEE Talks,” a concept designed as a platform for conversations between young professionals and experts. The intention is to open new dialogues, encourage informal mentoring, and provide a space for ideas that would otherwise be lost between projects and deadlines. For an industry undergoing rapid transformation, this initiative reinforces an essential advantage: the rapid circulation of experience.

The dialogue between academia and industry was also animated by Iuliana Stănescu, coordinator of the Industrial Energy program at Ovidius University, who moderated the forum. She highlighted the complementarity between technology and the human factor, between practical expertise and the enthusiasm of those just starting out. Her message emphasized the idea that energy is, above all, a profession in which curiosity, responsibility, and creativity are at least as important as technical tools.

During the two days, participants outlined several clear directions for the coming period: strengthening collaboration between UOC, AIEE, and industry companies; more applied projects and technical visits; aligning the skills required by the market with academic offerings; exchange programs between students and AIEE volunteers; direct involvement of students in organizing future editions. All of these mark a step forward in professionalizing the relationship between academia and industry.

The second day of the forum offered participants direct access to infrastructure and operations—from the Monsson Energy Dispatcher to the Mireasa BESS facilities, complemented by virtual tours into the world of renewable energy. These experiences, which bring technology closer to students in an authentic way, play a key role in the professional orientation of the new generation.
