More than 1,340 financing applications, worth 262 million euro, were submitted through the Aid Scheme for supporting investments in new production capacities of electricity produced from renewable sources for the self-consumption of enterprises in the agricultural sector and the food industry, the data show Agency for the Financing of Rural Investments (AFIR).
Thus, in the session that was opened between November 20, 2023 and February 15, 2024, the degree of use of the financial allocation is approximately 175%.
AFIR representatives specify that, at this moment, the session for submitting funding requests for this aid scheme is closed.
“The allocation established by the energy scheme for this session is of 150 million euros, divided according to the installed capacities at the enterprise level. Thus, 100 million euros have been made available for installed capacities of less than 1 Megawatt (MW), of which 90 million euros for solar energy and the rest for wind energy. For installed capacities greater than 1 MW, the total allocation was 50 million euros, of which 40 million euros was the energy allocation solar and the rest for wind power. The power of renewable energy production capacity for which farmers and processors have applied for funding through this scheme has reached a total of 488.27 MW, which is the equivalent of approximately 70% of the capacity of a reactor nuclear plant from Cernavodă,” it is mentioned in the AFIR press release, according to Agerpres.
AFIR notes that, for this aid scheme, the submission of project proposals is based on the competitive bidding procedure, being evaluated according to the competitive procedure depending on the score obtained, after the end of the submission session.
The support granted under this scheme is 100% non-refundable, and potential beneficiaries can submit several projects, only if the investments target different places of consumption, within the limit of 20 million euros/beneficiary.
The amount of financing for wind energy is a maximum of 1.4 million euros/MW for installed capacities less than or equal to 1 MW and a maximum of 700,000 euros/MW for installed capacities greater than 1 MW.
In the case of solar energy, the amount of support is up to one million euros/MW for installed capacities less than or equal to 1 MW, respectively up to 500,000 euros/MW for installed capacities greater than 1 MW.
According to the cited source, financing for the Energy Scheme is provided from the Modernization Fund, managed by the Ministry of Energy, the administrator of the state aid scheme being the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, through AFIR.
