The financing guide for the “Rabla” Program will be launched for public consultation at the end of the week, with its relaunch to take place in September, the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests (MMAP) announced in a press release.

“In a year with budgetary constraints, we have chosen to finance only those programs that bring clear benefits: less pollution in cities, fewer conflicts with wildlife and more safety for people. This Ordinance does not definitively close the AFM programs. The Government retains the option to approve, by memorandum, other projects until the end of the year. We thus ensure that every leu from the Environmental Fund is used efficiently for projects that can be implemented in a short time, with direct and visible effects for people and the environment”, said the Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu, in a press release.

According to the relevant ministry, this year’s “Rabla” Program will have an allocation of 200 million lei and will operate based on an updated guide, which will be posted for public consultation by the end of the week. Also, the value of the vouchers will be reduced to respond to the current economic situation.

MMAP data reveal that Romania has met its target in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) regarding the scrapping of 250,000 polluting cars, and in the 20 years of implementation, “Rabla” has led to the removal of over one million old cars from circulation.

In the coming period, the Ministry of Environment will present the updated list of the programs of the Environmental Fund Administration (AFM), as well as the calendar of their relaunch, depending on government decisions and the availability of European and national funds, the cited source specifies.
