The budget of the Environmental Fund Administration (AFM) for the year 2024, approved in the Government meeting on Wednesday, provides subsidies of 2 billion lei granted to prosumers and 1 billion lei to buyers of green vehicles.

“We made every effort to get the AFM budget approved as soon as possible, so that we can start the registration sessions we have planned for this year as soon as possible. I specify that we have allocated record budgets for the most important funding programs, programs that are highly anticipated by applicants from the entire country. At the same time, it is very important that we will now be able to publish the list of all the beneficiaries of the Photovoltaic Green House Program 2023 who were declared eligible by the installers,” said the president of AFM, Laurențiu-Adrian Neculaescu.

“The Photovoltaic Green House is the most requested program, so for the registrations that we will organize in 2024, we have allocated a record budget of 2 billion lei. We also have a budget of 250 million lei for the year 2024 for the launch of a financing session aimed at registering religious units, public institutions and non-profit legal entities in the field of social assistance that want to install photovoltaic panel systems for the buildings in which they operate,” AFM officials say.

“The program regarding the increase of energy efficiency in public buildings – as we have received numerous requests to organize a new registration session from applicants who want financial support for the modernization of public buildings and making investments to increase their energy performance, this year we will launch a new financing session with a budget of 600 million lei. At the same time, there is an impressive demand for electric vehicles that is constantly growing, so the total budget of the Rabla Plus Program (for eco-vehicles) will be increased, in 2024 a budget of 1 billion lei will be allocated for registrations of natural and legal persons, and for registrations in within the Rabla Classic Program, 300 million lei will be allocated. Since we want to expand the tracks for cyclists, for the year 2024, we have proposed a budget of 600 million lei for a new registration session dedicated to the Program for the creation of bicycle tracks,” the release on the institution’s website also states.

At the same time, the Public Lighting program, among the programs most accessed by administrative-territorial units, will benefit in 2024 from 500 million lei.

“The Rabla program for stoves, which provides support for the purchase of devices for heating homes, for localities in the mountain area, will be launched for the first time in 2024, with a budget of 500 million lei; the program regarding the restoration of historically contaminated sites, except for those regulated by special laws: 123.8 million lei; the “Green Week” program – For the year 2024, a budget of 100 million lei is allocated; for the Junior Rangers program – a pilot program through which students will carry out recreational activities in the protected areas of the country – this year a budget of 10 million lei will be allocated,” AFM officials also added.
