The economic operators in the gas sector had to store, in total, almost 23.5 TWh of natural gas, according to the obligations imposed by the Energy Regulatory Authority for this year. The stocks had to be made until the end of October, to ensure the consumption during the winter period, but, according to the data, this level of deposits had already been exceeded, even before the end of August, according to e-nergia.ro.

Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE) statistics, which collect data from all gas storage operators in the European Union, show that on August 24, 23.6 TWh of natural gas were already stored in Romania, exceeding the obligation for the end of October. Thus, Romania’s deposits are 71% full, according to GIE data.
