WALDEVAR Energy and Prime Batteries Technology will work together with Alive Capital for the development of the “Da Vinci New Project” photovoltaic park in Nanov, Teleorman County.
Situated on an area of 24.7 hectares, the new park will reach a total installed capacity of 26.002 MWp, of which 23 MWp will be financed through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) – Component C6: Energy, and 3 MWp will come from the developer’s own sources. With 44,448 photovoltaic panels and 78 inverters ready to deliver green energy to the grid, the project marks a significant development in the national energy infrastructure.
The key component that sets this park apart is the integration of a 5 MW/10 MWh energy storage system (BESS), supplied by Prime Batteries Technology, the European leader in Li-Ion battery technology. This advanced technological solution provides the PV park with vital grid regulation capability and operational flexibility in a context where balancing energy flows is becoming increasingly important for system stability.

For Cristian Dragomir, CEO of WALDEVAR Energy, the project is a validation of the company’s ambitions: “We started 2025 with the energies of the future and we continue it with emblematic results for Romania. We have exceeded 1.5 GW of installed capacity through our projects alone and we have just returned from Intersolar, the industry’s largest trade fair, where we revalidated our strategic alignment to a greener future. Today marks a truly special moment, alongside Prime Batteries, in the development of the Da Vinci New Project for Alive Capital – partners who challenge us to excel.”
From Alive Capital’s perspective, integrating storage solutions into renewable energy generation is a natural direction for a transforming market. Giacomo Billi, the company’s founder and CEO, said, “The installation of a storage system in the Nanov photovoltaic power plant is a natural step towards a more flexible and sustainable future.”
The project also marks the debut of the collaboration between Prime Batteries and Alive Capital, paving the way for further investment in storage technology, both locally and regionally. Vicențiu Ciobanu, CEO of Prime Batteries Technology, said, “Our participation in this project represents the debut of our collaboration with Alive Capital, which we are very pleased about, given the expertise and experience the company has in the local energy market.”
With an estimated output of 35,022 MWh/year, enough to power some 14,590 homes, and an annual CO₂ reduction of 88,310 tonnes, the Da Vinci New Project is more than an investment – it is a declaration of commitment to decarbonisation and efficiency. In addition, the equivalent primary energy production is estimated at 3,057.82 toe, a significant contribution to Romania’s energy independence.
