Romgaz has entered the data room of the Neptun Deep project offered by OMV Petrom and is looking for an external partner with whom to buy half the project sold by Exxon, said Adrian Volintiru, general manager, Romgaz.

“We have set ourselves a target of 20%, we are ready to come up with about 600-700 million euros, at a first evaluation of the project at 3 billion euros. Romgaz will go with an external partner,” Volintiru said.

He explained that the offer will be built in stages and will probably be ready by autumn next year.

“We will not register as operators”, added the Romgaz boss.

He also said that the legislation in the field is changing – both the offshore law and the Energy Law 123, which “are under debate”.

“We were consulted too,” he said.
