Allview Energy, the renewable energy division of Visual Fan, announces the development of Allview Certus, its own Energy Management System (EMS/SCADA) platform, designed to control, protect, monitor and optimize battery energy storage systems (BESS). The platform is fully developed by the Visual Fan team and is already used and optimized in real operating conditions, in the storage parks built by the company.
One of the main advantages of Allview Certus is interoperability, which offers the beneficiary freedom in choosing technologies and flexibility in configuring the investment. The solution can integrate different battery technologies, BMSs and PCS systems, so that the project architecture is built based on its technical and economic requirements, without dependence on the ecosystem of a single manufacturer. In addition, the modular architecture allows for the subsequent expansion of functionalities, without replacing the basic platform.
In operation, Allview Certus provides unified control and active protection across the entire BESS system. Data from batteries, BMSs, PCS systems, meters and external dispatching systems are centralized and permanently analyzed, and operating limits can be adapted to the actual state of the batteries, regardless of the source of the power command. Thus, the beneficiary retains control over how the asset is operated, while battery protection is directly integrated into the system’s operating logic.
Another important advantage is visibility into the actual performance of the investment. Allview Certus tracks the energy flow from the connection point to the battery terminals and vice versa, providing relevant data on efficiency, energy losses, auxiliary consumption and system availability. The beneficiary thus has the information necessary to understand, evaluate and monitor the asset’s performance based on real operating data.
An important differentiator of Allview Certus is its development directly in the context of BESS projects implemented by Allview Energy. The platform has been tested, used and optimized in real operating conditions, and its evolution is based on data and concrete situations encountered in the operation of storage systems.
The collected data allows for in-depth analysis of the behavior of batteries and PCS systems and provides visibility on essential indicators such as energy losses, auxiliary consumption, differences in behavior between batteries and effective operating limits. Allview Certus can follow the entire energy path, from the connection point to the battery terminals and vice versa, providing a clear picture of the real performance of the asset.
Thus, Allview Certus continuously evolves based on the experience accumulated in operation, transforming field data into relevant functionalities and tools for the operation of BESS systems.
“Allview Certus started from real challenges encountered by our teams in the design, integration and operation of storage systems and from the need for more flexibility and control. Developing our own software platform is a natural evolution for Visual Fan: we have the DNA of a technology company, and the experience and know-how accumulated in over 20 years of software development and integration have provided us with the foundation to build this solution. We are proud that Allview Certus is the result of our team’s expertise, developed in-house and validated in real operating conditions. Through Allview Energy, we are building not only energy infrastructure in Romania, but also software solutions. Energy independence must be supported by technological independence, and Allview Certus is an important step in this direction,” said Lucian Peticilă, CEO of Visual Fan.
