Vestas, the largest wind turbine manufacturer in Europe, last year reached a turnover of approximately 204 million euro in Romania, up 53.5%, the main factor for growth being the development of the demand in the local market, the 16th most important for the Danish group.

Romania went from six turbines installed in 2009- to 1,160 in the first three months of this year, being the 11th largest country in the EU with regards of installed capacity in wind projects. While in 2009 only 22 Vestas turbines were mounted in Romania, last year the group had 359 ” windmills” sold to customers as Lukerg Renew, STEAG, Energias of Portugal or Petrom.
