The bid for realization of the gas pipeline between Onești-Gherăeşti-Leţcani was launched on the Electronic Procurement System. Transgaz’ committed amount is 317, up to almost 411 million lei. The investment is part of the project “Developments of the NTS in the North-East area of Romania in order to improve the gas supply of the area as well as to ensure the transport capacities to the Republic of Moldova”.

The work is divided into two lots, and those interested can submit bids for one or both lots until January 28, 2019. The first lot, from Onești (Bacău) to Gherăeşti (Neamţ), 104 km, was estimated at 183 million lei, and the second, Gherăeşti-Leţcani, 61 km, at 133 million.

The bid runs downward, with the financial offer accounting for 90 percent and the technical 10 percent of the evaluation. Funding is provided by European funds and the duration of execution is one and a half years after signing the contract.

The winner will be nominated no later than July 2019.

The pipeline will connect the Iasi-Ungheni pipeline to the Romanian national system, thus contributing to the increase of the energy independence of the Republic of Moldova in respect to Russia. Inaugurated on August 27, 2014, the gas pipeline under the Prut River has a capacity of 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year.

Transgaz has another two big projects in the tender procedure: the consolidation of the transport system in Romania between Onești-Isaccea and the reversal flow at Isaccea (240 million lei worth), deadline for receiving offers or requests to participate on 10 January 2019, and the acquisition of pipelines for the implementation of the project “Developments of the NTS in the North-East area of Romania in order to improve the natural gas supply of the area and to ensure the transport capacities to the Republic of Moldova (195 million lei worth), with the deadline on 21 January 2019. Two other major projects, the acquisition and execution of the compression groups in Onești and Gherăești, with a cumulated value of almost 500 million lei, are in the process of evaluation of the financial offers, with a deadline announced for June 19, 2019.
