Transgaz pays 775.000 euros for security services

The National Company for Transport of Natural Gas Transgaz Medias, will pay 3.45 million lei (about 775.000 euros), VAT excluded, for security services at the objectives which it holds, through agreements concluded with several companies of security and protection, concluded by negotiation, announces News.ro, quoted by wall-street.ro.

According to News.ro, the company chose the negotiation procedure without publishing of a notice, because of a situation of “extreme urgency brought about by events that could not have been foreseen”.

The nine security agreements for security services at Transgaz’s objectives were concluded in late June with five security companies, respectively Legion Guard (Targu Mures), Ippon Med (Medias), Metropolitan Security (Medias), Mike-Security (Resita) and Top Guard Security (Bucharest).

The security company from Bucharest has won four agreements with the national gas transporter, worth 1.37 million lei, excluding VAT (around 300.000 euros), accounting for nearly half of the total package.

Transgaz is headquartered in Medias and has territorial exploitation offices in Cluj, Arad, Bacau, Brasov, Craiova, Braila, Constanta and Bucharest. Transgaz, a monopoly of transport of natural gas in Romania is controlled by the state through the Ministry of Economy, which holds 58.5% of shares.

The company is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange and has a market value of over 3 billion lei.
