Transgaz becomes a member of the Association of Romanian Investors in the Republic of Moldova

Transgaz shareholders approved today the company’s affiliation, as a Member, in the Association of Investors from Romania in the Republic of Moldova (AIR). A number of 3 shareholders decided to “abstain” regarding this item on the agenda, according to the information sent to Bucharest Exchange (BVB).

Born as a necessity for the development and consolidation of the prestige of the Romanian business environment in the Republic of Moldova, the Romanian Investors Association was formed by 12 companies on January 24, 2018, according to Financialintelligence.

The Association of Investors from Romania aims to contribute both to the development of own businesses in the Republic of Moldova, through the mutual assistance of the members of the Association, as well as to the attraction of new investors from Romania to the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, the Association aims to support and promote companies from the Republic of Moldova that want to operate in Romania. The Association of Romanian Investors aims to actively participate in all development initiatives of the investment and business environment in the Republic of Moldova.

The Moldovan Parliament voted in July to transfer the functions of the Moldovatransgaz gas transport system operator to the Romanian Vestmoldtransgaz, according to Moldovan media. With this vote, steps are being taken to take over the operation, dispatching and exploitation of the National Transport System of the Republic of Moldova from Moldovatransgaz, with Gazprom as the majority shareholder, by Vestmoldovtransgaz, in which Transgaz is the majority shareholder.
