The Ministry of Energy announced the financing with European funding worth 31 million euro for the construction of the 400 kV line Gutinas-Smardan. The total value of the investment is 56.8 million euro,” according to a company release quoted by Agerpres.

The 400 kV Gutinaş-Smârdan line will have a length of 140 kilometers and will cross 25 settlements from three counties (Bacau, Vrancea and Galati). The investment will be started this year, with a deadline to end 2022.

„The Gutinas-Smardan Electric Line is important for Romania’s energy security because it allows the securing of electricity supply to Moldova area (in Romania – e.n.) consumers and the integration of renewable energy produced in the Dobrogea power plants, which reach impressive quantities. The end of this project is the end of 2022 and I wish that this term be respected by Transelectrica’s management,” Economy minister Eugen Bădălău said.
