On October 30–31, 2025, Cluj-Napoca will host the third edition of the Energy Cybersecurity Forum, organized by Distribuție Energie Electrică România (DEER) in partnership with the Ministry of Energy. The event, which has already become a benchmark for professionals in the field, brings together representatives of authorities, network operators, IT companies, academia, and public institutions responsible for the protection of critical infrastructure.

The central theme of this year’s edition emphasizes the need for an integrated approach to cybersecurity, in a context marked by accelerating digitization and increasingly interconnected energy systems. Discussions will explore common strategies for preventing and managing threats, the role of interinstitutional and intersectoral partnerships in strengthening energy security, and innovative technological solutions that can ensure the protection of critical infrastructures.

“In a context where digitalization and emerging technologies are profoundly transforming the energy sector, the cybersecurity of critical infrastructures is becoming a strategic objective. The forum aims to discuss the latest trends, risks, and solutions for network protection, as well as to strengthen cooperation between the public sector, companies, and experts,” said Mihaela Suciu, General Manager of DEER.

The importance of this issue is also highlighted by Energy Minister Bogdan Ivan, who stated: “Cybersecurity is the first line of defense for energy independence. In a world where cutting-edge technologies are redefining how we produce, distribute, and consume energy, Romania must be prepared to defend its critical networks and infrastructure with the same seriousness with which it defends its natural resources. By developing the Cyber Security Incident Response Center for Energy (CRISCE) and through solid partnerships with operators in the field, we are building a resilient, smart, and secure energy system.”

The CyberEnergy.ro platform, dedicated to the event and related activities, functions as a permanent hub for information and collaboration for specialists and institutions involved in cyber protection in the energy sector. Through this platform, participants can access resources, best practices, and details about national and international initiatives in the field.

The organizers announce the presence of representatives from central and local authorities, leading energy companies, and IT industry leaders, confirming the growing interest in strengthening the digital resilience of the Romanian energy system.

Energynomics will be present at the Forum and will provide extensive editorial coverage of the event.

Details about the full Forum program and the registration form are available on the event’s official website: www.cyberenergy.ro.
