From 22-24 September 2025, Bucharest will host the third edition of the Romanian Energy Symposium – SIREN 2025, an event organized by the Romanian National Committee of the World Energy Council (CNR-WEC), under the patronage of the Ministry of Energy. This year’s theme – “Resilient and Just Transition for the Romanian Energy Sector” – focuses on the industry’s adaptation to the structural and technological changes the global economy is undergoing.
The papers will be presented in a hybrid format: the sessions on September 22 and 23 will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Bucharest, while September 24 will be dedicated to scientific and technical presentations, held online on the Zoom platform.
A full debate on energy in Romania
SIREN 2025 is recognized as the leading national symposium dedicated exclusively to the Romanian energy and economic environment, bringing together decision-makers, companies, experts and academia to explore the full range of challenges and solutions – from strategic orientations and public policies to the concrete experience of end consumers.
“This is the third edition of the Romanian Energy Symposium. The event is taking place at a time when digitalization is rapidly transforming the energy sector, redefining the way energy production, transmission, distribution and use are managed”, underlines Prof. Dr. Ing. Ion Lungu, President of CNR-CME. “Thus, SIREN 2025 will bring together industry experts who will help define digitalization as an essential part of today’s energy sector. Artificial Intelligence and Cyber-Security also have a major impact on energy processes. The success of our event will result from the diversity and quality of the ideas that will be debated, ideas that will lead to solutions offered to decision-makers for coherent and efficient actions. For secure, sustainable, clean, affordable energy!”
Four central themes, scientific sessions and tutorials
The event’s agenda has been structured around four major strands: strategies and policies for the energy transition, investment programs, new technologies and commercial policies dedicated to the market and consumers. These will be complemented by a Scientific Communication Session, with specialized sections presenting research, projects and successful experiences from all segments of the sector.
A distinctive element of SIREN 2025 is also the Tutorials program, through which the organizers aim to support knowledge transfer and continuous professional training, in line with the educational mission of CNR-CME.
“SIREN 2025 mission has all the conditions to be fulfilled by defining these main themes, able to group most of the topics that concern the Romanian energy community”, says Prof. Dr. Ing. Ștefan Gheorghe, CNR-CME Executive General Director. “We invite the Romanian energy specialists, our collective and individual members and all our collaborators to participate in this edition, with the wish of a successful event”.
Registration and program
SIREN 2025 aims to provide a framework for reflection and dialog for companies, specialists and the general public interested in Romania’s energy future. The final program will be published a few days before the opening and registration is already open.
