The Republic of Moldova is taking an important step in its European integration path by strengthening preparations for the bilateral screening meeting on Chapter 15: Energy and Chapter 21: Trans-European Networks (TEN-E), which will take place on July 10–11, 2025, in Brussels, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Moldova reports.
In this context, the final internal simulation session was held at the Ministry of Energy on June 17, aimed at assessing the level of preparation of the national team for this crucial stage.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, Minister of Energy, Dorin Jughietu, State Secretary Cristina Pereteatcu, as Chair of the Working Group, as well as State Secretaries Constantin Borosan and Carolina Novac. Representatives of the Bureau for European Integration (BIE), the Center for Harmonization of Legislation and members of the interinstitutional working group were also involved in the preparations.
During the meeting, organizational aspects regarding the participation of the delegation of the Republic of Moldova in the official session, as well as the technical content of the national presentations, were discussed. According to the agenda sent by the European Commission, the screening will include 9 thematic blocks and 14 sub-blocks, analyzing 89 legal acts of the European Union. Detailed technical presentations were developed for each thematic block, reflecting the current level of harmonization with the acquis communautaire.
A large part of the legislative acts analyzed during the screening are already included in the National Program for the Accession of the Republic of Moldova to the EU 2025–2029, with transposition deadlines set for 2026.
This preparatory session underlines the strong commitment of the Republic of Moldova to accelerate the accession process to the European Union and to build a modern, resilient and interconnected energy sector with the EU internal market, fully integrated into the internal market of the European Union.
