The local gas distribution network increased in 2018 by 3%

The natural gas distribution network reached 41,413 kilometers, reflecting an increase of 2.9% in 2018, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

According to the cited source, the total length of natural gas distribution pipelines at the end of last year was 41,413.3 km, up 2.9% over the previous year, of which 23,227.9 km in municipalities and cities.

During 2018, natural gas was distributed in 945 localities, of which 248 were in municipalities and cities, and the length of gas distribution pipelines expanded by 1,157.4 km on a comparative level. The volume of distributed natural gas was 9,042.8 million cubic meters, 136.4 million cubic meters less than in the previous year, according to Agerpres.

Of the total volume of natural gas distributed last year, 3,144.2 million cubic meters were destined for household consumption, accounting for 34.8% of the total volume of distributed natural gas and 89.7% of the total volume of gas distributed were distributed in the urban area.
