The Hungarian Battery Days will return on November 6–7, 2025, for its fifth edition, confirming its status as one of Central and Eastern Europe’s most relevant meeting points for the battery and e-mobility industries. Organised by the Hungarian Battery Association and White Paper Consulting, the conference will explore the latest industry trends, regulatory developments, and technological innovations, bringing together top decision-makers, experts, and investors from across the continent.

The event will open with high-level perspectives on Hungary’s industrial ambitions. Márton Nagy, Minister of National Economy, will present the government’s plans and strategic goals for developing Hungary’s rapidly expanding battery sector — a priority area in the country’s green industrial strategy. István Joó, Government Commissioner and CEO of HIPA – the Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency, will underline the key role of international investments in accelerating local and regional value chains.

European perspectives will be brought by Patrick Clerens, Secretary General of the European Association for Storage of Energy (EASE), and Fabrice Stassin, Secretary General of the Batteries European Partnership Association (BEPA), who will both offer insights into the outlook of the European battery market amid new policy frameworks and global competition.

The growing e-mobility ecosystem will feature prominently in the discussions. Chris Heron, Secretary General of Emobility Europe, will address the policy and market challenges shaping this transformation. Industrial leaders such as Johannes Jung and Christian Müller from GROB-WERKE GmbH & Co. KG, and Dr. Richard Zhang, Managing Director of EVE Germany GmbH, will explore how technological innovation and infrastructure development are redefining the future of electric mobility.

A highlight of the conference will be the intervention of Shen Feng, Managing Director of CATL Debrecen, who will present the company’s Hungarian investment as a cornerstone in the global battery landscape. The panel on energy storage and market integration will feature leading voices from Hungary’s power sector: Péter Horváth, CEO of Dunamenti Power Plant (MET Group); Csaba Farkas, Head of Group Renewables at MOL Group; Dr. Csaba Kiss, Deputy CEO of MVM Hungarian Electricity Ltd.; and Ábel Suri, Senior Product Manager at Huawei Serbia & Hungary. Together, they will discuss the expanding role of storage technologies in ensuring energy security, flexibility, and decarbonisation.

Sustainability and circularity will also stand at the core of the agenda. Anita Simon, Deputy CEO of Alteo, will link sustainable business operations with energy efficiency, while Olaf Rogge, Business Development Manager for Recycling at BASF Battery Materials, will outline Europe’s evolving collaborative recycling ecosystem. Further on, Aleksandar Devčić, Managing Director of Jedro DS Innovations, will introduce pioneering recycling technologies, and Aleksandar Džombić, CEO of Storioin Energy, will share practical insights on building a circular future for the battery industry.

This year, Energynomics joins the Hungarian Battery Days as Media Partner, continuing its mission to connect and inform professionals across the regional energy landscape. Varinia Radu, Co-founder and CEO of Energynomics, will take an active role in the program as moderator of the Roundtable Discussion “The EV Ecosystem: Infrastructure, Innovation, and Integration.” The session will explore the opportunities and challenges emerging at the intersection of technology, policy, and market development — highlighting how collaboration across borders can accelerate Europe’s transition to sustainable mobility.

The Hungarian Battery Days 2025 will once again combine knowledge-sharing with direct industrial exposure. The first day, hosted at the Hotel Marriott Budapest, will feature a full-day professional conference with panel discussions and keynote sessions. The second day, on November 7, will offer an exclusive site visit to Jász-Plasztik Kft. in Jászberény — Hungary’s largest domestically owned battery recycler and manufacturer — allowing participants to see first-hand the country’s growing technological capabilities.

By bringing together policymakers, technology providers, manufacturers, and investors, the Hungarian Battery Days aim to provide a comprehensive overview of the state and prospects of the European battery industry — from raw materials and production to recycling and reuse.
