NEPI Rockcastle Rockcastle has inaugurated the first photovoltaic park in its portfolio in Chișineu-Criș, Arad County – a strategic step marking the company’s entry into renewable energy production for commercial infrastructure.
With an investment of around €30 million, the park covers 51 hectares and has an installed capacity of 54 MW. The project was completed in less than a year and will produce around 70,000 MWh of electricity annually, equivalent to the consumption of more than 29,000 households. It will also help avoid more than 21,000 tons of CO₂ emissions each year.
“Our first greenfield photovoltaic development represents an important step in our long-term plan to produce sustainable energy,” said Andrei Radu, Group Development Director, NEPI Rockcastle. “We are grateful to our business partners LONGi, ENEVO Group and Electroechipament Industrial (EEI) for their involvement and know-how, which helped us complete the project in less than a year, under excellent conditions,” continued Andrei Radu.
The Arad photovoltaic park is the first development of its kind in a wider €110 million green energy plan for Central and Eastern Europe. The program aims to install photovoltaic panels on both existing shopping centers and two greenfield projects in Romania with a total capacity of 159 MW.

With this investment, NEPI Rockcastle becomes the first commercial real estate group to develop a photovoltaic park of this size with its own funds. The initiative marks a new phase in the integration of sustainability into its operating model, with the objective of producing renewable energy for its own consumption and supporting the regional energy transition.
