The society of the future is an electric society and in the new context it will be necessary for the entire energy chain to be interconnected, which can only be achieved through automation and digitization. However, the problem of the lack of specialized workforce in the sector can be an impediment, said Răzvan Encică, Managing Director at Phoenix Contact Romania, at the 9th edition of the Energy Strategy Summit, an event organized by Energynomics.

“How many specialists do we have in Romania who can think of a photovoltaic park of several hundred MW from scratch? Who will we install with? Maybe unskilled work can be found, but there are too few firms on the engineering side. We have to invest in education”, Encică said.

The German group of which Phoenix Contact Romania is a part has more than 100 factories in 60 countries and has annual business of 4 billion euros. The company has more than 20,000 employees

The company’s strategy for the next decades is empowering society and is based on three pillars, namely electrification, automation and the interconnection of all sectors of the economy.

Energy Strategy Summit 2023 was organised by Energynomics with the support of ABB, ASTRASUN Solar, BCR, CEZ Romania, Eaton Electric, Electrica Furnizare, Electro Service RB, Elektra Renewable Support, EnergoBit, Enevo Group, E.ON, Finder, Huawei, MET România Energy, OMV Petrom, OX2 România, Phoenix Contact, Photomate, ProCredit Bank, REI Grup, Renomia Gallagher, Romgaz, Schneider Electric, Signify, Transelectrica, Taw Energy, Volt, WIKA, Wiren, Alexandrion Group, Aqua Carpatica, Klarmedia and Mobexpert.
