Best Corporate Citizen – 2022 Energynomics Awards nominations

We are starting to present the 2022 nominations for the Energynomics Awards, with the “Best Corporate Citizen” section – a category supported by ING Bank. Seven projects were registered. Only one of the projects below will be rewarded at the Gala on December 8, but each company and all the people involved in these projects deserve our respect and the widest promotion. We thank all the companies and personalities who got involved in this effort to draw the image of the Romanian energy industry in 2022 through its successes!

Association for Clean Energy – “Efficient and Solidarity = Responsible” Campaign

The Association for Clean Energy launched the “Efficient and Solidar = Responsible” campaign, which aims to replace at least 100,000 incandescent bulbs with LED fixtures in rural areas of Romania and the Republic of Moldova. The campaign will take place in the villages of Romania and the Republic of Moldova with the support of the volunteers of the Association for Clean Energy and Combating Climate Change, which will also cover the costs from its own funds.

 

CEZ Vânzare – CODE KIDS – drones for children in coding clubs

Children between the ages of 10 and 14 are learning to code in public libraries with the aim of developing digital skills and creating a national coding and STEM movement (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). This year, in addition to the coding activity, the Drone Pilot School was also established, where children learn to fly the drones provided by CEZ.

The support granted by CEZ Vânzare contributes to the expansion of the project’s activity area, to the opening of new clubs and to the support of existing ones, so that every year the project has expanded to more counties and with more activities.

 

Distribuție Oltenia – “Apprentice Electrician” Program

The Apprentice Electrician Program aims to contribute to the training of future generations of electricians from Argeș, Dolj, Gorj, Teleorman, Olt and Vâlcea counties, by increasing the quality of the training opportunities offered to young people who want a career in the energy sector. The www.ucenicelelectrician.ro website, launched in 2021, has become the “host platform” for communicating the program’s identity: an educational process that prepares you for a job of the future, connected to new technologies. Nuclearelectrica – “Nucleu de bine” Platform

The “Nucleu de bine” social responsibility platform includes projects and beneficiaries whose funding needs fall within the medical, educational and environmental fields, with priority given to projects in the areas where the company operates.

Nuclearelectrica supports both the local community and initiatives that lead to innovation and continuous development, especially those of young people. In 2022, 55 projects were supported, with 9.8 million lei, with an impact on over 10 million people.

 

Romgaz – Training the specialists of tomorrow

Romgaz concluded partnerships for the professional training of students through dual education and started a scholarship program in partnership with prestigious universities in Romania – such as Lucian Blaga University in Sibiu and Petrol-Gaze ​​University in Ploiești – which specialize in the field of exploration and exploitation of natural gas and in the field of electrical and energy engineering. The company also concluded collaboration agreements with the Technological High School “National Gas School” from Mediaș and the Technological High School from Iernut (Mureș county).

 

Schneider Electric – Schneider Forest

Approximately 200 Schneider Electric employees planted around a thousand saplings to rebuild the deforested forest in the Cheia area. On November 2, 2022, the tree planting action through which Schneider Electric contributed to the regeneration of forests in Romania. Initially, the project called for the planting of 400 saplings, but in the end the Schneider Electric team managed to plant 1,000 saplings of fir, spruce, beech and mountain ash.

 

Wiren – Arborescu Association

The association aims to promote, develop and attract members in the organization of joint afforestation activities of several counties in Romania, as well as increasing the level of awareness regarding the importance of nature preservation. In the first month of activity, together with the national voluntary afforestation initiative “We plant good deeds in Romania”, the association launched by Wiren contributed to the planting of 1,100 saplings. The assumed objective is the planting of 200,000 saplings in 5 years, one for every kW installed in new electricity generation capacities from photovoltaic sources.
