Gasoline and diesel would be cheaper. At least that’s how the Liberals promise, after the Chamber of Deputies’ budget committee approved removing the fuel surcharge.

The report was unanimously voted in committee. On Wednesday, the report would also be put to the vote in the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies, which is the decision-making chamber.

Theoretically, from January 1, 2020, the prices for the pump would decrease by 0.32 lei for each liter of fuel, according to TVR.

The elected are counting on the Competition Council. They want this institution to do a much more rigorous monitoring of pump prices and to sanction those in the oil industry if they do not adopt this measure.
