The Bucharest Prefecture requests the Bucharest Tribunal to annul the subsequent acts of the decisions to set up the new municipal companies. These documents entailed part of the companies’ capital increases, the budgets and the additional acts that delegated the main public services, according to Hotnews.ro.

The Prefecture’s action comes after the Bucharest Court of Appeals canceled the decisions to set up municipal companies because they were illegally approved by a simple majority, not by the vote of two-thirds of the general counselors, as required the law.

Gabriela Firea asked the general counselors, including those in the opposition, to approve four resolutions confirming the establishment of Consolidation, Parking, Eco-Hygiene and Public Lighting companies. „As we have found a solution for the Termoenergetica Company, I am convinced that even in other areas we will find viable technical solutions (…) All the companies we talked about during this period were set up according to a law that is still in force, were set up with a great deal of good faith, for quality services at fair prices,” said Firea, who claimed that these companies were set up „exactly to fight the thievery at the City Hall.”

She argued that this model is „used by big capitals, only in Bucharest it does not have to work”. „However, I think we can reach an agreement to save at least some of these companies to have good quality services at fair prices, and we have zero achievements in the previous years (…) We will soon have 5 buildings completely refurbished, 70 are already secured. It’s a tough thing that was done, all worked hard, this company has to be saved,” she said.

All subsequent acts are legally suspended after the Prefecture has started the action in court, and the activity of the targeted companies is currently blocked.
