Francesco Starace, CEO of Enel, participated in the presentation, at the Sacred Convent of Assisi, of the “Manifesto of Assisi for a human scale economy against the climate crisis”, of which the Enel leader is one of the promoters together with, among others, the President of the Symbola Foundation, Ermete Realacci, the Guarder of the Sacred Convent, Father Mauro Gambetti and the Director of the San Francesco magazine, Father Enzo Fortunato.

During the event, which was attended by Italy’s Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, and the President of the European Parliament, David Sassoli, as well as some of the country’s main top executives, Mr Starace commented: “For some time now, Enel has taken a path towards a circular economy, based on renewable sources. The results we have achieved in these five years, doubling the value of the company and reaching a global scale, show that following this path with courage and determination is a logical and rational choice, and I invite everyone to do the same.”

The Manifesto of Assisi, which has over 2,000 signatories, is aimed at promoting the fight against climate change with the contribution of the best technological, institutional, political, social as well as cultural energies and, above all, the participation of citizens, for the construction of a safer and more civil world.
