Smart metering of energy consumption is only one of the methods of achieving energy efficiency goals. However, companies should also consider carrying out energy audits to be able to use their equipment in an optimal way.

“We all want efficiency in our activity and in the consumption of resources. Information, awareness and ownership play an important role. The technical component is the most important in the field of energy efficiency, it helps us reach the proposed or mandatory objectives”, said Daniel Rus, regional sales manager of MET Romania Energy, during the conference “Digitalization and Energy Efficiency – Cluj-Napoca”, organized by Energynomics.

According to Rus, any imbalance between the production and consumption components generates important costs, but about 70% of MET’s customers have smart meters that allow the company to achieve the most accurate balancing of energy consumption in real-time.

“The market is increasingly unpredictable. In contractual relations with clients, we want to offer stability and predictability so that it is easy for them to make their budgets. Unfortunately, what is happening in the market complicates our situation a little, but we manage to overcome these aspects”, said Rus.
