Many companies spend more and more money to get people to visit their websites, but most of that money is wasted because visitors leave quickly, says Dobromir Slavov, Growth & Partnership Lead at Aiployees, a start-up founded in Bulgaria.
„According to HubSpot, 75% of people leave a website within the first 53 seconds because they don’t find what they’re looking for. We want to change that by greeting them with a smart, human-like assistant as soon as they arrive,” Slavov explained at the DigitALL 2025 conference organised by Energynomics.
Aiployees creates “digital humans”, which are advanced chatbots that appear on a company’s homepage and start a conversation within 10 to 15 seconds, using either text or voice. These bots are powered by popular AI models like ChatGPT, Claude, Llama, and DeepSeek. They can answer questions, forward complicated issues to real staff, book service appointments, and help identify potential customers. Unlike many basic chatbots that use only one AI model, Aiployees lets clients choose between four different models depending on their needs. The same virtual agent can also work on platforms like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Instagram Direct, with chat histories kept in sync across all channels.
Experts say there are still challenges to wider use, especially in places where people don’t fully trust automated services. While Romanian energy companies already use some local chatbot solutions, Aiployees says none of them offer the same level of flexibility and features, according to its own research. The company didn’t share pricing details but said return on investment is discussed with every client.

Aiployees is also planning to give its bots access to tools like Google Trends, so they can predict what users will ask next. This could be useful for news websites as well as utility companies. They’re also working on ways to personalize responses based on each visitor’s past behavior, though this might raise new privacy concerns.
”Conversational AI isn’t just coming; it’s already changing the way companies welcome and help their customers. And the energy sector is ready for this change,” Slavov said.
