Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy technology, has announced the launch in Europe of its new on-site battery energy storage solution, Schneider Boost Pro. The new solution helps both commercial and industrial buildings reduce energy costs, reduce their carbon footprint and ensure business continuity.

Amidst continued electrification and the transition from CO₂-intensive oil and gas-based generation to more sustainable production methods, renewable sources now cover 50% of the electricity used in the European Union. Increasing this share is however challenging, due to the variability and intermittency of renewable sources and the need to modernize the grid to provide a flexible and interactive system.

Schneider Boost Pro is a solution that supports the energy transition by offering energy storage capabilities that increase the flexibility, stability and efficiency of the energy supply in industrial and commercial buildings.

The Schneider Boost Pro energy storage system is also suitable for deployment in warehouses to support the charging of heavy vehicles such as buses and trucks. It can also be integrated into transportation infrastructure – for example, along highways – where reliable, high-capacity charging solutions are essential.

Scalable from 200 kWh to 2 MWh by combining up to 10 units, Schneider Boost Pro is part of Schneider Electric”s complete solution for optimizing energy operations as demand increases. This comprehensive solution includes power distribution, electric vehicle charging stations, edge control, software and services.

“With the emergence of a new energy landscape driven by the increase in the use of renewables and the acceleration of electrification, smart storage solutions are becoming an essential part of any electrical system. By 2030, commercial and industrial buildings will face an increase of up to 35% in electricity demand, driven mainly by the expansion of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. However, many organizations are limited by low grid capacity and the intermittency of renewable generation,” said Jean-Baptiste Hazard, Senior Vice President and Head of eMobility at Schneider Electric.

Schneider Boost Pro offers companies the opportunity to implement intelligent and flexible energy management through smart storage. This is crucial in the new energy context, as it helps balance the variability of renewable sources and reduce pressure on the grid during peak periods. This makes companies more resilient, efficient and sustainable in their operations – allowing them to redefine their energy strategies for the future.
