The cheap gas promised to Romanians by the state will not come soon. Romgaz sent, in a response to Digi24, that it no longer has quantities of natural gas for sale to the population until March 31, 2027 and estimates that the first offers will be launched only in December 2026, for deliveries starting April 1, 2027, although, just a month ago, the company’s management and the Minister of Energy announced the entry into the supply market as early as this spring.
The first commercial offers for the population are estimated to be launched only in December 2026, and the actual deliveries will begin after April 1, 2027, marking a significant delay compared to the initial plans.
Romgaz initially intended to supply gas to household customers starting April 1, 2026, but the company stated that it does not have sufficient quantities or the necessary personnel for the supply department, according to Adevărul.
“We estimate that Romgaz will launch the first offers for the population in December 2026, offers for the delivery of natural gas starting April 1, 2027,” company representatives said.
Although the authorities gave guarantees in February that Romanians would benefit from cheaper gas, the reality of the market shows that this will not happen before 2027.
Currently, Romgaz does not have quantities available for the population, postponing the launch of commercial offers until the end of next year.
