Romgaz has put up for auction a contract for external auditing services for natural gas resources and reserves, worth 5 million lei, according to a company announcement published on the SICAP public procurement website.

The type of procedure is the open tender and the award criterion is the best value for money.

The duration of the contract is 30 months, according to Agerpres.

According to the announcement, under the conditions of participation in the tender, the item “Technical and professional capacity” stipulates that the bidder must be internationally recognized, respectively to present evidence on the preparation of audit reports of natural gas resources and reserves for companies worldwide, in compliance with the standards imposed by the Oil Resources Management System PRMS – revised edition in June 2018, approved by the Society of Petroleum Engineers SPE and Standards for Estimating and Auditing Oil and Gas Reserves, revised and approved by the SPE in June 2019.

Of these, at least one audit report on natural gas resources and reserves will cover Eastern European companies, Romgaz said in a statement.

“Romgaz specified the Eastern Europe area because in this area there are certain particularities regarding the geology of the sedimentation basins, the type, the support and the quality of the geophysical information (…) Requesting the presentation of at least one report for companies from Eastern Europe was determined by the fact that: 1. In Eastern Europe there are certain peculiarities in terms of the geology of sedimentation basins, the type, support and quality of geophysical information. 2. Also the data provided by Romgaz to the auditor imply investigations obtained by old methods such as PGAC, CEN, CEA, BKZ.CR, respectively data obtained decades ago (50 years – 60 years) and with which the auditor must be familiar. Therefore, the auditor must be able to use both the data obtained by older methods specific to Eastern Europe, as well as those obtained by current investigation methods, in preparing the external audit report of resources and reserves,” Romgaz representatives explain.
