Romcarbon Buzău (ROCE), leader in the Romanian plastic recycling market, has sold its stake in the Green Group holding, owner of the largest integrated recycling park in South-East Europe, in a deal worth about 14.2 million euros, reveals data analyzed by Profit.ro.

The transaction was carried out through the company Recyplat Limited, registered in Cyprus and fully controlled by Romcarbon, which sold its stake to Romgreen Universal Limited, also based in Cyprus, representing 17.58794% of the share capital. The profit from the sale of the stake held in Green Group is of 45.7 million lei.

The company assures that the sale of the holding in Green Group does not mean that Romcarbon will give up investing in the circular economy, but on the contrary, it will continue in this direction “having now more resources to integrate them into the existing recycling activity.”

Investment fund Abris bought Green Group from Global Finance in 2016, a company that brings together six waste recycling services firms and is the second largest producer of regenerated fiber in Europe.
