As of February 1, 2021, the Romanian electricity market has moved from one hour’s settlement time to 15 minutes’ settlement interval. The implementation of this settlement interval in the electricity market makes it possible trading much closer to the delivery time, which is expected to increase the possibilities for imbalance management by market participants closer to real time.

Trading data can be consulted HERE.

The actions and processes needed to move to the 15-minute settlement interval were coordinated by the CNTEE Transelectrica SA in cooperation with ANRE, OPCOM and all the participants in the energy market.

Offering the possibility to trade the 15 minutes local product in the Romanian bidding zone meets the requirements of European Regulation 2195/2017 and European Regulation 943/2019, transposed into Romanian law by order ANRE no. 63/2020.
