Republic of Moldova, 7th place in Europe at the price of gasoline

The price of fuel at the pump continues to rise significantly, and a liter of gasoline in the Republic of Moldova has exceeded the threshold of 24 Moldovan lei (5.84 RON, or 1.18 EUR). In an analysis of the price of gasoline in 45 countries on the European continent, the Republic of Moldova ranks 7th, in terms of the lowest price for a liter of gasoline.

If in the same period last year, a full tank of gasoline (50 liters) cost around 850 Moldovan lei, now the value has increased to 1,200 Moldovan lei (291 RON), reflecting an increase of over 40%, according to Timpul.md.

Comparing with neighboring countries, in Romania, a liter of gasoline costs 1.38 euros and in Ukraine about 1.05 euros. The lowest price for a liter of gasoline is recorded in Russia, where it costs about 0.60 euros, followed by Belarus – 0.72 euros and Azerbaijan with 0.82 euros.

The Republic of Moldova is ranked 7th, with a price of 1.14 euros, a similar price being recorded in Poland.

If we compare the prices in Moldova with those in the Transnistrian region, the differences will be about one leu and 25 Moldovan bani for gasoline and 30 bani for diesel. Thus, in Transnistria a liter of gasoline costs 22.8 Moldovan lei, and a liter of diesel 20.6 lei, while in Moldova gasoline reaches 24.04 and diesel 20.9 lei. On the other side of the ranking, the highest price for a liter of petrol is in the Netherlands, at 2.17 euros.
