The first renewable energy training center in Buzau, offering 100 free training places in the field of green energy, was inaugurated on Wednesday.
“RenewAcad, the largest network of renewable energy training centers in South-Eastern Europe, together with Rezolv Energy today opened a new training center in Buzau County, dedicated to training specialists for the renewable energy industry. The event also marks the launch of the first groups of trainees within the Rezolv Energy Skills Academy program, through which Rezolv Energy offers 100 free training places for residents of the region,” a statement said.
According to the cited source, the new center functions as a local skills hub for the green economy, where participants are prepared for jobs in the wind and photovoltaic sectors by combining practical training with theoretical modules.
Thus, RenewAcad provides the training infrastructure and certified instructors, while Rezolv Energy finances the free places through the Rezolv Energy Skills Academy program, part of the Rezolv Energy Shift impact platform, which aims to make the energy transition more equitable and inclusive for communities in Romania.
“For us, the energy transition means not only investments in wind and solar parks, but also direct investments in people. Through the free places we offer within the RenewAcad center in Buzău, we want people from the host communities of our projects to have real access to the jobs of the future, at international standards, and to be able to work long-term in clean energy projects, including in the VIFOR wind park area and in other investments we are preparing in Romania,” said Marian Pavel, Country Manager of Rezolv Romania, quoted in the press release.
The objective of the initiative is that, by the end of the year, at least 100 people from Buzău County will complete both the internationally accredited Global Wind Organisation (GWO) courses and the national courses accredited by the Ministry of Labour and Social Solidarity, thus preparing for a long-term career in renewable energy.
“Between October 1 and November 13, 2025, 121 people had already registered on the registration platform, exceeding the target by 21%, and starting on November 5, the first training groups in the solar and wind fields began. Half of the trainees come from the host communities of the VIFOR Project,” the quoted source states.
The first programs run at the RenewAcad Buzău center include the GWO Basic Safety Training modules for the wind industry, already completed between November 11-14, as well as the “Installer for Photovoltaic Systems” course, held between November 4 and December 4, 2025, company representatives say.
The students come from all over Buzău county and cover all age categories – from young people aged 18-20 to people over 50 – as well as different levels of education, from qualification certificates to higher education.
The program particularly encourages the enrollment of women, facilitating the access of more participants to technical professions in the renewable energy sector, a field in which they remain poorly represented, the document also states.
“We wanted the training center to be organized within an educational institution and we also set up outdoor training areas, where participants prepare in conditions as close as possible to the reality of wind and solar parks: dedicated equipment, operational scenarios and an approach oriented towards practical activities. Our objective is for each trainee to be prepared to enter a construction site safely and to meet the requirements of employers”, stated Sebastian Enache, director of RenewAcad, quoted in the press release.
According to the cited source, registrations for the free places offered by Rezolv Energy at the RenewAcad Buzău center continue and are open exclusively to people residing in Buzău county.
