Renalfa Group is strengthening its presence in Romania by expanding its integrated model, which combines renewable energy production, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, EPC solutions, energy storage, trading, and aggregation. The Group is leveraging the synergy between these activities to address an increasingly critical need in the energy system: flexibility.

Romania plays a strategic role in this initiative, according to representatives of the group. In recent years, member companies have experienced rapid growth in the local market, and their development plans point to a shift from individual projects toward a broader energy platform capable of integrating production, consumption, and infrastructure.

Konstantin Nenov, founder of the Renalfa Group, points out that Eldrive, the group’s first company to enter the local market, has now been in business for seven years. “The first seven years are the most important, because that’s when character is formed. Today we have a company with a very strong character,” says Nenov.

Eldrive Romania is one of the group’s most visible components. The company has grown from a few charging stations to over 1,000 charging points nationwide, becoming one of the leading operators in the local market. For Renalfa Group, the development of the charging network is linked not only to individual electric mobility but also to the next stage of electrification: commercial transport and fleets.

Stefan Spassov, CEO of Eldrive Holding, believes that Romania is a strategic market for the company and that Eldrive’s integration into a regional renewable energy group represents a significant competitive advantage. “Joining forces with Renalfa, Toki, and Solarpro creates a rich energy ecosystem with expertise in innovation, renewable energy, infrastructure, and mobility,” he added.

Another pillar of the group is Solarpro, a company active in the EPC sector and in the development of photovoltaic projects. Solarpro began operations in Romania in 2021 with a team of five people and currently has over 25 employees. The company’s goal is to support local projects and deliver them on time, while adhering to the quality standards it has committed to.

In the investment segment, Renalfa IPP is developing projects in partnership with local and international players. Group representatives have indicated that the platform already has its first operational project in Romania and that its planned portfolio includes significant photovoltaic generation and storage capacity. In the coming years, the company plans to develop over 1.5 GW of photovoltaic projects and expand battery capacity, which is considered essential for grid stability.

The storage and flexibility segment is complemented by Toki, the group’s trading and aggregation platform. Its role is to integrate the assets developed by the group and bring new products to market that can leverage the flexibility of generation, consumption, and storage. In the group’s approach, aggregation and trading serve as the link through which generation, storage, and consumption assets can contribute more effectively to system balancing.

The companies within the group recently inaugurated their new shared office in Oregon Park, Bucharest, a milestone marking the consolidation of their presence in Romania. “We are an ambitious and innovative group, but we need an ecosystem to grow. This journey cannot be undertaken alone,” said George Tecușan, Country Manager of Renalfa Romania, thanking partners and internal teams for their contribution to the development of the group’s strategic objectives.

Renalfa Group is a regional group active in renewable energy, electric mobility, EPC, investments in energy production, storage, trading, and aggregation. In Romania, the group brings together four complementary business divisions: Eldrive Romania, operator of a national charging network for electric vehicles; Solarpro, a company active in EPC and photovoltaic projects; Renalfa IPP, the investment platform for renewable energy production; and Toki, the trading and aggregation platform.
