RCS-RDS telecommunications company launched the Digi Energy supply service through which individuals and businesses will be able to buy electricity. For business customers the operations have already begun, The Oradea Transport Company is the first customer, with a one-year contract, and it is rumored that there are household customers who have given up their services from Electrica Furnizare.

The new provider has offers that go down to 120-130 Lei / MW, down by 30-40 Lei / MWh compared to the offer of Electrica Furnizare, the last resort supplier in the region, where the company has its base of operations. However, until now RCS-RDS has published on its website the price offer, as the law requires for providers. At first, RCS-RDS will debut with energy businesses in Bihor county.

In 2012, the company led by Zoltan Teszari acquired 90% of the shares in Energyall Distribution and Energiafoto companies, that were developing at the time solar energy projects for 20 million euros. In total, Internet and cable company has seven operating solar parks with an installed capacity of 23.5 MW of production. Also late last year, it was rumored that RCS-RDS and Enel reached an agreement whereby the Romanian company will acquire Enel Banat.

At an average monthly consumption of 150 kilowatts, a household could save up to 100 euros per year benefiting from new services provider, whose pilot project is an attempt to convert its telephone, cable tv and internet customers in electricity customers.
