Premier Energy Group, in the portfolio of the Czech investment fund Emma Capital, is launching the Premier Energy Romania Foundation, more than a year after a similar initiative in the Republic of Moldova. Six years ago, the founder of Emma Capital and CEO of PPF Group, Jiří Šmejc, established the “Patron of Children” charity project, chosen for the last three years as an official partner of the famous Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

“Since 2017, through the Patron of Children project and since last year through the Premier Energy Foundation from the Republic of Moldova, we have been able to help thousands of children with special needs, gifted children, or children who are fighting a hard battle with a certain disease. We got involved in helping families of Ukrainians forced to leave their country and flee the war. We are determined that through these three platforms we will give the children we help the chance to live their dreams,” said Jiří Šmejc, founder of both Premier Energy Foundations and Emma Capital, the investment fund that owns the Premier Energy group, one of the main players on the gas distribution and supply market in Romania.

The Premier Energy Romania Foundation aims to support children and young people in Romania who have social, educational or medical needs.

“One year after we launched the Premier Energy Foundation in the Republic of Moldova, we decided to take this step in Romania as well, after six years of experience in charitable projects carried out through the Patron of the Children platform in the Czech Republic. We are a broker of good deeds, we do not directly provide financial aid to various causes, but direct the donations received to financially cover medical, social, educational needs. It’s a formula that allows us to manage each individual case in a transparent and efficient way,” said the president of the Premier Energy Foundation from Romania and the Republic of Moldova, Jiří Kottas.

The launch event of the Premier Energy Foundation was attended by high representatives of the state, the diplomatic corps, sports personalities, entrepreneurs and representatives of the mass media.
