PPC blue, part of the Public Power Corporation (PPC) group, is strengthening its position as a leading provider of electric mobility solutions in South East Europe with the launch of the East Europe Electric Route project. With funding of up to €2.76 million from the European Union under the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF) program of the Connecting Europe Facility, the company will install 60 high-capacity charging stations on TEN-T routes in Romania and Greece.
Cross-border infrastructure for cleaner transport
The project aims to install 28 fast charging points (minimum 150 kW) for light vehicles and 32 ultra-fast charging points (minimum 350 kW) for heavy vehicles in 29 strategic locations along the TEN-T network – the backbone of European transport. Through this initiative, PPC blue contributes directly to improving connectivity between Member States and accelerating the transition to low-emission transport.
Romania will benefit from 44 of the 60 charging points: 12 fast and 32 ultra-fast stations, installed in carefully selected locations to serve heavy transport flows and provide the certainty of seamless electric mobility on major European routes.
Strategic reach and local impact
The project marks a new stage of development for PPC blue Romania, after a 2024 in which the company implemented a complete systems upgrade, expanded the operational team and opened 61 new charging locations, covering all counties of the country. With a total installed capacity of more than 14,000 kW, the PPC blue network is becoming an essential piece in the national e-mobility infrastructure, contributing to the decarbonization of transport and reducing urban pollution.

A smart and digitized network
The PPC blue infrastructure is supported by a dedicated mobile app, available in the App Store and Google Play, which allows users to view available stations, plan their journeys and access tailored charging services – with direct payment or subscription. The app integrates both the Romanian and Greek networks, facilitating cross-border electric mobility.
The 2024 performance reflects the positive impact of the PPC blue network on the environment and consumption behavior: users traveled more than 10.5 million kilometers, saving more than 1,700 tons of CO₂ in one year – equivalent to 262 full laps around the Earth
