Termoficare Oradea will be one of the 19 potential beneficiaries which will receive funding through PNRR for hydrogen production, according to the list displayed by the Ministry of Energy. Oradea has been preparing for getting energy from hydrogen for a long time. Local councilors have already approved the technical-economic indicators for the “Hydrogen production and storage facility for the production of electricity and thermal energy at CET Oradea” project, according to Transilvania Business, as early as August 2022.

Through this project, Termoficare Oradea SA submitted a request for non-refundable financing within the PNRR – Pillar I. Green transition – Component C6 – Energy; Investment measure – Investment I.2, for the project “Hydrogen production and storage facility for the production of electricity and thermal energy at CET Oradea”.

This provides the opportunity through which Termoficare Oradea can achieve its goal of striving towards energy independence and contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

The total value of the project implementation is 134.68 million lei (without VAT), of which the estimated value of non-refundable financing is 92.6 million lei, and the estimated value of the beneficiary’s contribution – 42.08 million lei ( without VAT). Ineligible expenses are estimated at 1.95 million lei.

“The project is at the stage of technical documentation, feasibility study and a funding request has been submitted to obtain non-refundable funds to be able to realize it. We are waiting for the result of the evaluation to be able to move to the next stage, that of design and execution. We hope that in the next month, maximum two months, we will find out the result. The project is evaluated in several areas: technical, financial, administrative. There are several stages, at each stage it is announced who goes further. We are waiting with interest for his evaluation and to see if we qualify to the end for obtaining the financing,” said Daniel Țigan, advisor in the Directorate of Management Projects with International Financing (DMPFI) from the Oradea City Hall.
