PNRR – Ministry of Energy awaits projects for energy efficiency in the private sector

The Ministry of Energy announces today the launch of the call for projects for funding from the NRPP – Investment Measure 5 – Supporting investments in modernization, monitoring and energy efficiency of economic operators to ensure energy efficiency in the industrial sector.

The aim is to complete at least 50 energy efficiency projects in industry, which will reduce indirect and direct GHG emissions by at least 30%.

Closing date and time for project submission: 31 August 2022, 17:00

The maximum amount of State aid that may be granted under this measure on the basis of Article 38 – Investment aid for energy efficiency measures, of Regulation (EU) No 651/2014 declaring certain categories of aid compatible with the internal market in application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty is maximum 1. EUR 200 000 for an undertaking, representing 30% of the eligible costs plus bonuses as per point 1.7. Funding is eligible for a single project (defined as a single intervention and/or package of interventions) at the level of an undertaking, irrespective of the number of branches/workplaces/subsidiaries for which it applies.

Eligible applicants are economic operators – micro-enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises, but also large enterprises, entities with legal personality registered in Romania and operating in accordance with national legislation in the field, on the territory of Romania, respecting the condition of registration with ONRC.

The total estimated budget of the scheme is the equivalent in RON of 62.000.000 euro, non-reimbursable European funds provided through the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan – Component C.6 Energy.
