Vulnerable consumers can request, online, the granting of the electronic energy voucher, starting from Wednesday, in the EPIDS electronic platform, developed by the Special Telecommunications Service.
“We support vulnerable Romanians in paying for electricity! Together with my colleague Petre Florin Manole, Minister of Labor, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity, we launched today the EPIDS electronic platform – epids.mmuncii.ro, implemented by the Special Telecommunications Service. The support mechanism brings the certainty that the light remains on and the heat is not missing from the homes of those who need it. Eligible persons can request the energy voucher, worth 50 lei/month, used exclusively for paying electricity bills”, wrote the Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, on his Facebook page.
This support benefits single people with a net monthly income of up to 1,940 lei, families with a net monthly income/member of up to 1,784 lei. Beneficiaries of the minimum inclusion income are automatically entered into the system, no application is required.
“Through energy vouchers, we support low-income families to cope with bills and get through this period more easily. For PSD, protecting those who need help is not just a promise, but a permanent responsibility. We continue to build policies that show that caring for the most vulnerable is one of the foundations of our governance within the coalition”, the Ministry of Labor, in turn, sent on its Facebook page, according to Agerpres.
According to a joint statement by the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Labor, people who do not have access to the internet can submit applications in writing to their local town hall or post offices, starting from August 28, 2025. The voucher has a value of 50 lei/month and can be used exclusively for paying electricity bills, until March 31, 2026. It cannot be alienated.
Applicants must be domiciled in Romania or be able to prove that they legally reside in the country. Applications for the granting of energy vouchers are submitted only once. For invoices from July and August 2025, applications must be submitted in the EPIDS application by September 27, 2025.
“The money is not given in cash and is not transferred to a bank account. The support is granted for a single place of consumption, even if the applicant is not the holder of the energy contract. Payment for electricity consumption is made directly at post offices, where the citizen must present the invoice and an identity document. The energy voucher can be used within 12 months of the last charge, and the balance can be used at any time until March 31, 2026,” the press release states.
If the beneficiary of this right changes his or her address or the composition of the family changes, it is necessary to submit a new application in the EPIDS application or at the city hall of residence or at the post offices.
