The Plose photovoltaic park, developed by Alerion Clean Power and built by Parapet, has been officially connected to the grid and has started delivering green energy. The investment of almost 27 million euros marks a new stage in the expansion of the photovoltaic sector in Romania.
Parapet, a Romanian contractor specialized in EPC solutions for renewable energy, has announced the completion and commissioning of the Plose photovoltaic park, located on a 50-hectare site in Călărași County. The power plant has an installed capacity of 35 MWp and an estimated annual production of 55.5 GWh, enough to cover the annual consumption of thousands of households.
The project, financed by a 18.5 million euros investment loan from BCR, is part of the expansion strategy of the Italian group Alerion Clean Power, active in Romania through several wind and photovoltaic projects. The total value of the investment in the Plose park is 26.8 million euros, with a maturity of the financing until 2040.
The construction brought several firsts for Parapet: roads and fences completed in record time, and piling work completed in just nine days – more than three times faster than the usual average. In total, the project involved the installation of 63,000 photovoltaic panels on 900 trackeres, 12,600 piles, 7 kilometers of roads and 2,850 meters of fencing.
Parapet, founded in 2012, has offices in Cluj-Napoca and Bucharest and subsidiaries in Germany and Italy. Its portfolio includes more than 1.5 GW of clean energy installed in 17 European countries through more than 350 PV, wind and hybrid projects.
For Alerion, listed on the Milan stock exchange, Plose marks a new step in the €700 million investment plan announced in 2021, with which the company aims to increase its portfolio to over 1.5 GW. In Romania, the Italians are active in both wind and solar, with projects in Peris, Vrani, Jimbolia and Sânnicolau Mare.
The success of the Plose park confirms the accelerated dynamics of investment in renewables and Romania’s role as a key market for international developers.
