Automatica resumes its journey 60 years after its establishment

After more than 60 years since its establishment, Automatica SA has resumed its rise through a new factory, a range of cutting-edge products and a strategy based on innovation.

The story of the automation pioneer in Romania continues in the new factory located in Otopeni, which offers the right infrastructure to produce complex applications, but also for ongoing research and development projects. The production area of over 7,000 square meters and high-performance equipment cover the needs for the most sophisticated mechanisms of electrical equipment in the company’s portfolio, as well as turnkey solutions with a high degree of complexity, such as equipped containers.

The activity of integrating industrial robots and the production of electronic subassemblies for the electrical industry was resumed. The range of medium voltage equipment has been modernized and expanded with 24KV PIX cells (Schneider Electric license) and medium voltage equipment for hazardous areas, in partnership with Bartec GmbH.

Distribuție Energie Oltenia – Digital map of the low voltage distribution network in Oltenia

The distribution operator Distribuție Energie Oltenia started in 2016 its own SMART Transformation project to ensure its transformation into a digital company. The operator marked a new success in the second half of 2021 and made available to energy consumers, local developers, builders and local / county authorities in Oltenia and partly Muntenia, the GIS map, a project implemented and managed by Marius Floreșteanu, Head of GIS Service within the company. With over 13 years of experience in the energy field, Marius has managed and been part of numerous projects of the Distribuție Energie Oltenia that aimed at integrating the operator’s facilities into SCADA, the introduction of remote control equipment.

The GIS (Geographic Information System) project was designed to provide a high-performance platform for storing, analyzing and processing technical data of electrical networks. With an investment of approximately 4 million euros and 4 years since the beginning of the initiative, the digital map of the low voltage distribution network is accessible to everyone, just a click away HERE!

EnergoBit Control Systems – A portfolio of 7,000 MW of installed capacity

EnergoBit Control Systems is part of the EnergoBit group of companies, actively involved in the development of new clean energy capacities, having in different stages of study and design more than 7,000 MW installed power, in wind farms and photovoltaic power plants. The significant volume of new projects undertaken in 2021 was reflected in the financial results – tripling turnover this year.

The services offered by EnergoBit Control Systems serve all categories of customers, both in the internal and external market, and the projects it develops have innovative components, some of which are designed to deliver energy in SEN, others for the production energy needed to cover the consumption of large units, industrial or even municipalities. Through the projects carried out, EnergoBit Control Systems ensures, in addition to an excellent technical achievement and the best ethical practices, at the same time aiming to obtain positive effects on the community.

Nova Power and Gas – Development of electricity production capacity

Nova Power and Gas has built a power plant with 2 gas-fired power plants, with a total installed capacity of 13.4 MW (2x 6.7 MW). The investment of 7 million euros, on a built area of 600 square meters is qualified from the point of view of the new technical norms regarding the connection to the national energy system of the generating groups for the provision of technological system services (STS) and can offer reserve Frequency Stabilization (RSF) and Frequency Restoration Reserve (RRF).

Also, depending on the demand for heat, the two groups can also provide heat in cogeneration.

Nuclearelectrica – Agreement for small modular reactors from NuScale

The partnership, signed this summer, sets out the next important steps for Nuclearelectrica and NuScale in developing a safe, affordable, zero-emission, in-band nuclear technology with a focus on the locations of former coal-fired power plants. Through this partnership, Romania has the potential to use for the first time in Europe the first small modular reactors and to become a catalyst for the development of SMR in the region, but also a basis for ensuring the operation of this new type of technology in other countries.

NuScale will support Nuclearelectrica in the evaluation of this technology and, together, the two companies will adopt measures for the development of a NuScale power plant with 6 modules, 462 Mwe, at the earliest in 2027/2028.

Tomis Team – US patent for the wind farms’ efficiency

In early October 2021, the United States Patent and Trademark Office granted Tomis Team the patent for a technical solution that improves the performance of wind turbines. The certification is all the more valuable as the CEZ method allows to improve the performance of wind turbines by capturing the maximum possible wind flow and provides 25% fewer measurement errors than the other measurement methods currently used in the national and international wind sector.

The patent is the first international result obtained by a team of 2 Romanian specialists who cultivated their knowledge inside the know-hub that CEZ has built in the wind sector.

The application of the CEZ method reduces the energy losses caused by wind misalignment of wind turbines, on average by up to 4%, if we consider misalignment of ± 12 ° to wind. The technical solution was also sent to the European Patent Office for certification, the CEZ application being currently under analysis.

Transgaz – Developments of the national transport system in the North-East area of Romania

The project “Developments of NTS in the North-East area of Romania in order to improve the natural gas supply of the area as well as to ensure the transport capacities to the Republic of Moldova” consists in building a new transport pipeline that will connect the Onești Technological Node with the Technological Node Lețcani in the direction of Onești – Gherăești – Lețcani.

The main objective is to ensure the conditions leading to the energy security of Romania and the Republic of Moldova, as well as to increase the security of gas supply of the North-East region of Romania (Bacău, Botoșani, Iași, Neamț, Suceava and Vaslui counties). Another major objective is to ensure the physical possibility of bidirectional gas flow on the Iași – Ungheni interconnection pipeline and to ensure technical and economic parameters at the Ungheni interconnection point, for the socio-economic development of the area by ensuring the need for natural gas consumption in the development perspective. in the next 30-40 years.

VOLT EVSE Distribution – Development of software solutions for automation of operational processes

VOLT EVSE Distribution has developed software solutions for the automation of operational processes related to government financing programs. As a result, it managed to reduce the generation time of technical projects for the Electric Up program, from a few days to a few minutes. The company has 40 admitted files out of 40 dollars submitted under the ElectricUp program, in 2021. The software solution is in the process of optimization, following to automate the elaboration of projects for an extended series of financing programs in the field of renewable energy.
