In the opening of the conference, mayor Florin Birta emphasized the fact that the success of 2023 to be the best year in terms of investments, with a total value of over 918 million lei, is due to teamwork.

“It is the merit of the entire team within the town hall, both those who wrote projects and those who implemented them. But you must know that it is also the great merit of the Economic Department, and I would like to thank Mr. Eduard Florea and his entire team for the effort made at the end of last year, when 700 payment orders were made in 5 days, in order to could make all the payments, so that we can settle all our projects with European funds, for when he had to find solutions to use the credits for the works we had to pay, so that then in 2024 we recover our money”, said the mayor Florin Birta.

“For the year 2024, we have a budget of 2.9 billion lei, the largest in post-December history. It is a 28% increase compared to last year’s execution, which ended at 2.2 billion lei. It is a budget that also includes last year’s budget surplus of 114 million lei, of which 77.9 million from the local budget and 36 million from institutions financed from own revenues. In large part, this surplus was due to the prohibitions to make payments in the months of November and December for goods, services and other investments that were not financed by European funds. These amounts remained in the town hall’s accounts, so that in the months of January-February they will be paid to the suppliers and builders who could not be paid at the end of last year”, added Florin Birta.

The year 2024 will bring many new investments, among which are the new energy group, the new hospital on Vlădeasa street, Geothermal Ioșia Sud, Pasajul Borșului, Pasajul Decebal, Park 1 Decembrie, public lighting, a new nursery school, energy rehabilitation of some schools, according to the cited source.
