Nuclearelectrica wants to sell at least 53 million euros worth of energy in a single day

Update: Only five of the 12 originally proposed auctions were taken to an end, the other seven being canceled. In the five successful tenders, Nuclearelectrica sold 220,850 MWh of electricity for 38.43 million lei (8.7 million euros) to Tinmar Ind and E.ON Energie Romania. The energy will be delivered from July 1 to December 31.

Nuclearelectrica organized 12 auctions on Opcom energy and gas exchange for almost 1.5 TWh which have a combined value of 234 million lei (52.98 million euros). According to Opcom website, the highest bid consists of a delivery contract of 877,200 MWh, delivered continuosly, at an average hourly power of 50 MW between 1 July 2014 and 30 June 2016.

Originally proposed price is 178 lei/MWh for the first year of delivery, which includes input component in the network. For the second year the pricing formula will not allow a cost with 3 lei/ MWh lower than in the first year of the contract, or a price with 10 lei/MWh higher than in the first year of the contract. The other energy offers start from 174 lei/MWh, and the energy is to be delivered between 1 July and 31 December 2014.

Nuclearelectrica recently sold on OPCOM energy and gas over 30 million worth of power, and the big winner of the auction was Electrica Supply. The transaction concluded between the two state companies says that the producer will deliver to the supplier 772,975 MWh from 1 July to 31 December 2014, at a power range between 5-20 MW for an average price of 174.80 lei/MWh.
